The UAE insurance market continues to expand. The Central Bank of the UAE’s dedicated 2025 report on the UAE insurance sector recorded gross written premiums of AED 74.8 billion, up 14.9 percent, and total sector assets of AED 164.9 billion. The figures are encouraging, but they also raise a more important question: what does good growth actually look like?
For me, growth cannot be judged only by premium, policies or market share. Those measures matter, but they do not tell us whether an insurer understands its risks better, makes stronger decisions, operates more efficiently, serves customers more effectively or becomes more resilient as it grows.
